Art Show: Pop Porn - Red Passion Edition

Today I'm glad to announce that I've been invited to join a huge Art Show in Rome!

As you can understand by reading the name of the show, the theme is going to be sensuality from a modern and funny point of view.

My art is generally not sensual at all so I'm making a big effort to make something light, easy and cheerful as I usually am!

These are just a few sketches I'm making trying to focus on pin-up girls and 50s style.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the show is going to be in one week, the 30rd of November, and I still have to make two big paintings! I'll let you see how they will come out soon, wish me luck!

Doodling like crazy!

A few days ago I decided to buy a box of felt-tip pens, like the ones I used to use as a kid at school!
I wanted to feel that sense of freedom of mind that children have when they make their little drawings, so I started to fullfill my sketchbook with little colored guys!
It's so funny!

I found a definition of hoard as a "hiding place"... And my bear is hiding!

Update
I changed the illustration a little bit making the fireflies more recognizable.
I actually didn't know if it was a finished work or not but after reading my friend Miyuki's comment I decided to add little wings and lights!
But I must admit the I like the hibernation interpretation too ^___^

And I also want to explain that this one is part of a series of works representing the 5 senses.

It's a very sketchy style I've been trying to develope lately, starting from little drawings I made with my left hand! I know, it's weird! XD
Maybe in the future it will become a personal style, who knows...

I'm working on this illustration as a T-shirt design I'll probably submit to Threadless.
This is a sort of "retro" style that I'd like to work on more and more in the future.
I love the look and feel of those American 50s cartoons and commercials!
